OPPO Find X6 Pro:
Tech writers in Global Ranking:
These handsets were readily accessible worldwide, and I would confidently suggest them alongside Samsung or Google devices. However, the Oppo Find X6 Pro is exclusively sold in China, making it challenging to recommend for purchase in the US or Europe.
This situation is quite frustrating, considering the exceptional quality of the phone’s camera—one of the best I’ve ever experienced. Unfortunately, it lacks the Google Play Store pre-installed, which limits its appeal to enthusiasts in the Western market.

Design & Construction
- The design deviates from the sleekness of the Find X3 Pro and Find X5 Pro.
- Notable features include a bulky build and a sizable camera module.
- Available in matte glass or vegan leather finishes.
- The Find X6 Pro departs from the glimmering silver metal aesthetic of its predecessors.
OPPO Find X6 Pro Reviewing my unit, it featured a green matte glass finish, both attractive and reinforced with Gorilla Glass 5. However, it tended to be quite slippery. Thankfully, a high-quality plastic case with a vegan leather coating was included in the package. Additionally, there’s a black variant available, both measuring 9.1mm in thickness.
I personally prefer the two-tone silver and brown vegan leather design of the alternative Find X6 Pro option over the one I assessed, reminiscent of classic cameras. This variant measures 9.6mm thick. All three models boast IP68 dust and water resistance.
The primary focus on this phone OPPO Find X6 Pro is undoubtedly its cameras, as evident by the large circular module on the rear housing three sensors, featuring a mix of glass and textured materials. While the centered placement ensures stability when laid flat on a table, its substantial size makes the device feel top-heavy in hand.
There are prominent camera branding elements featuring ‘Hasselblad’ and ‘Powered by MariSilicon’ imprinted on the back. However, apart from these, the design is surprisingly understated for OPPO Find X6 Pro, featuring a discreet logo and simple shiny green borders along the phone’s edges.
Weighing in at 218g, it’s relatively heavy but notably lighter than the 240g iPhone 14 Pro Max. The Find X6 Pro boasts excellent haptic feedback, offering tightly controlled vibrations throughout the system without any audible rattling.
The under-display fingerprint scanner functions effectively, and there’s also 2D face unlock available through the central selfie camera cut-out.
Screen & Sound System
Screen & Sound System Featuring a stunning 6.82-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, the Find X6 Pro showcases one of the most impressive smartphone screens available. With a razor-sharp 1440 x 3168p resolution, every detail pops on this expansive panel.
Employing energy-efficient LTPO technology, the screen dynamically adjusts its refresh rate to conserve power while delivering a premium visual experience. Whether you’re browsing apps or viewing photos, the display dazzles with vibrant colors and deep contrast, customizable through various color profiles and resolution settings.
The slightly curved edges not only add aesthetic appeal but also enhance ergonomics, making the device feel sleeker in hand. OPPO Find X6 Pro claim of the screen being the brightest on a smartphone, peaking at 2,500 nits, holds true, as it illuminates even the brightest environments with ease.
Complementing the exceptional display, the Find X6 Pro boasts powerful dual stereo speakers that deliver rich, immersive sound. Surprisingly capable even at higher volumes, they excel in music playback, video calls, and podcasts, providing an all-around audio experience that enhances multimedia consumption.
Specifications & Performance
The Oppo Find X6 Pro boasts impressive hardware specifications, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It comes equipped with either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, alongside storage options of 256GB or 512GB using UFS 4.0 technology. The reviewed variant sports 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset delivers exceptional performance while maintaining energy efficiency, ensuring smooth operation across various tasks.
Benchmarks for the Oppo Find X6 Pro reveal seamless performance, with smooth navigation and rapid app loading times. High-end mobile gaming experiences are handled with ease, indicating the device’s prowess in handling demanding applications.
Additionally, the device offers convenient features such as physical dual SIM slots, USB-C 3.1 connectivity, and an infrared remote control for controlling compatible devices like TVs.
Connectivity options are comprehensive, including support for 4G and 5G networks, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC for mobile payments. Despite the absence of native Google services, users can still utilize services like Google Wallet for transactions, as demonstrated with a Mastercard debit card in the UK.
Camera & video
Thanks to OPPO Find X6 Pro integrated neural processing unit (NPU), even novices can capture stunning photos effortlessly. The MariSilicon NPU works its magic in post-processing, elevating the already outstanding image quality to new heights. The large sensor size allows for exceptional light intake, resulting in accurate colors, sharp detailing, and impressive dynamic range.
Portrait mode shots are a breeze with the natural bokeh effect created by the large sensor, eliminating the need for excessive software manipulation. And with two additional lenses utilizing the same high-quality sensor, the Find X6 Pro offers versatility without compromising on image quality.
The telephoto lens provides up to 3x optical zoom, while digital zoom capabilities reach an astonishing 120x, allowing for incredible flexibility in capturing distant subjects. Video recording at up to 4K 60fps is smooth and detailed, although the iPhone 14 Pro still holds the crown for video clarity and processing in this price range.
Even the front-facing camera, equipped with a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor, delivers impressive results without resorting to excessive beauty modes. In normal or portrait modes, it excels in both photos and video calls, provided there’s sufficient lighting to avoid any slight washout.
In essence, the Oppo Find X6 Pro’s camera setup is nothing short of extraordinary, setting a new standard for smartphone photography and videography. It’s a testament to OPPO Find X6 Pro commitment to innovation and excellence in imaging technology.
Battery life & charging
- Incredibly fast 100W wired charging
- 50W wireless
- 5000mAh battery
The Oppo Find X6 Pro boasts an impressive battery life and charging capability, adding another layer of excellence to its arsenal. With a hefty 5000mAh battery and astonishingly rapid 100W wired charging, using the provided brick and cable, this device takes charging to new heights.
In just 15 minutes, the phone charges from 0% to 56%, and within 30 minutes, it reaches an impressive 97%. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, maxing out at 45W, can only achieve 43% in the same timeframe and doesn’t include a charger in the box.
Battery longevity is equally commendable. Even with constant usage, the Find X6 Pro comfortably lasts more than a day and a half. PC Mark’s battery test reinforces this, clocking an impressive 16 hours and 43 minutes. The combination of outstanding battery life and lightning-fast charging makes using this phone an absolute delight.
Wireless charging is also swift, with the Find X6 Pro supporting 50W charging using an Oppo AirVooc charger. Additionally, it can share its power through reverse wireless charging to Qi-compatible earbuds and other devices, including phones, by simply flipping the device over.
OPPO Find X6 Pro assures users that even after four years of regular use and fast charging, the battery will maintain up to 80% of its original capacity. While this claim can’t be personally verified, it’s reassuring given the common issue of smartphone batteries degrading significantly over time.
Software & features
- Color OS 13.1 based on Android 13
- No Google services out the box
- Chinese software hard to budge
However, for those residing outside China, the software of the Find X6 Pro poses a significant challenge, serving as its Achilles’ heel and a compelling reason to reconsider purchasing the device. The software is deeply rooted in Chinese Android conventions, causing frustration and limitations for Western users.
Straight out of the box, there’s no Google Play Store. Although it’s feasible to install it along with system-level support for Google services, the process is cumbersome. Personally, it took me two attempts, including a factory reset midway through, involving the installation of Google Chrome from OPPO Find X6 Pro App Market app store and downloading an APK for the Play Store.
If you rely on Google apps and services and aren’t familiar with sideloading APKs, this phone might not be the right choice for you.
During my three-week trial with the Find X6 Pro, functionality was mostly smooth. I managed to get all Google apps operational, and applications downloaded from the Play Store ran without issues.
However, the system retains many elements of its Chinese origin, with system apps displaying in Chinese instead of English, unexpected Chinese pop-ups, and screensavers featuring Chinese content and adverts. ColorOS widgets are particularly challenging to decipher.
While ColorOS 13.1 layered over Android 13 boasts an attractive and playful interface reminiscent of Google’s Pixel software, the experience for Western users falls short compared to alternatives like the OnePlus 11.
Despite my efforts to tailor the phone to Western preferences by prioritizing essential Google services, the frequent reversion to Chinese settings was frustrating, especially considering the device’s premium price tag.
Moreover, the reliance on sideloading Google apps raises concerns about future compatibility. While they currently function smoothly on the X6 Pro, there’s no guarantee of continued support in the future.
